Principal's Message
St.
John the Baptist –
This
school year, 2007-2008, we once again look forward to the opportunity to teach
and challenge our students. As students and parents in our school, you belong to
a community of students, teachers, teacher assistants, custodians, volunteers
and a secretary. All members of this community are valued and respected and play
a vital role in the education of our students.
Parents are always welcomed in the school to communicate with teachers and administration in regards to any of their concerns. Being a part of a community school, is an important part of our fabric. One aspect we are striving to build upon is developing our students as productive caring members of the South End Community. Educating our children should extend beyond the walls of our classroom into the community as contributing citizens. We hope to provide our students with the tools, skills, and opportunities for this to occur. Not only do we welcome the support of community members and groups but, we also want to give back.
There are many exciting things happening within the walls of our school as a result of the dedication of the staff, students, parents, and volunteers. We would like to express our gratitude to the numerous volunteers, including teachers and parents, who help provide programs for our students. Also, we acknowledge our partnership with our PALS Irving Oil which provides volunteers who mentor students, run after school homework programs, and assist with numerous extra-curricular activities.
In closing, I look forward to working with you all for many years to come. It is important to remember, it takes a community to educate a child. Thus, we must work together to ensure our students meet with success at school, at home, and in our community.
Sincerely,
